Hello Russ,I appreciate you taking the time to write I also . thank you for your support. I know what it is to be falsely accused of things. I get it everyday from the Sentinel and the forum, just like saying I was the one that had you arrested. Then to have Julie Stout accuse me of sexual harssment and physical abuse, that's bullshit. You were there and know who was 'abused'. I don't have the time to respond to all of the lies this group is slinging at me. I know that just before the election that they will publish a hardcopy Sentinel and Freepress paper slamming me with lies. That's really a shame because I am busting my ass to try and make things better around hereand they're using lies and half-truths to try and discredit me. The only reason I attended that meeting at Giovoni's is to answer questions and make sure people had factual information. I don't say things that I can't verify.I don't really know what Stout's agenda is, but she is not the person she portrays to be. I know you're intelligent enough to watch your back, but don't get sucked in and used by these people. I thought that the Daubs were friends until something didn't go their way and then you see how they talk about me. When I first became Mayor, Austin wrote about me as a "hero" and now look. Nothing about me changed in that year, except something didn't go his way. All I am saying is just watch. Don't get yourself involved in something that will cost you because of the actions of others. There is a plan in place that will address the inappropriate actions of certain members of "the group". These few people are drawing a line and forcing people to choose sides. Just ask yourself this one question; "What has this group of people done to benefit Portsmouth or move us forward"? They prey upon individuals who have a gripe with the city and recruit them for their own personal agenda.Being Mayor is hard because you sometimes have to make tough decisions and you can never please everybody. All I can do is choose what I feel is best for the majority of the people. Any time you have questions or want to discuss anything, call or come by my office or home. I would enjoy sitting and discussing some things with you. I have always been straight forward and honest in what I do and will continue to do so and I am always willing to debate my positions. I don't claim that I never make mistakes, but when I do I'll admit them and do everything I possibly can to correct the mistake.I'm sure that any inproprieties that happened in your arrest will come out, and then if necessary, corrective action will be taken. There have been other questions on the protocol of the Portsmouth Police Dept. and if proven to be true and accurate they will be dealt with also.Once again, thank you for writing and best wishes to you and your's.Sincerely, Jim K
